HJS {l Wrote}:Jurk and Crist are similar… if Jurk came to BC outta high school. But, there was a whole career in South Bend intervening. Brian Kelly saw immediately that Jurk wasn’t a QB and (after giving him enough rope to conclusively hang himself) tried to salvage his FB career with a suggested move to TE. Stupid is as stupid does and the magnanimous gesture instead became grounds in Jurk’s mind to go scorched earth on everything ever associated with the Fighting French. As a shock to no one, Brian Kelly has proven to be right and Jeff Hafley wrong.
I would think that given the results to date at LSU, that everyone understands that Brian Kelly is a joke who wrecks QBs like it's his job. This isn't to excuse Jurk, but my guess is that Kelly did to Jurk what he did to every QB under his tutelage. Indeed, it is remarkable that Jurk was as effective as he was when he first arrived at BC. Certainly better than Everett Golson was at FSU, Malik Zaire was at Florida or Brandon Wimbush at UCF--hell, even better than Andrew Hendrix at Miami of Ohio. You can probably toss Tyler Buchner into that mix because Tommy Rees is basically Brian Kelly. The only reason he hasn't wrecked Jayden Daniels yet, and the operative phrase is yet, is because Daniels had the good fortune to get three years of college QB coaching before Kelly got to him.
You are free to continue with your anti-Jurk agenda. I support it. But don't you dare get in the way of my anti-Kelly agenda if you know what is good for you.
And I'll tie all of this together by stating that my anti-Kelly agenda is a direct result of the fact that I can see the following scenario coming a mile away. Hafley limps to a 6-6 record against this shittastic schedule and is left dangling as BC's head coach for one more year. Kelly finishes 7-5 this year raising the temperature on his coaching seat to boiling heading into next year. Hafley goes 3-9 next year as Leahy decides to hang it up leading to the first lay President at BC. Kelly, once again Kellys at LSU and is shitcanned after another 7-5/8-4 record, with LSU paying him $70 million to go away. Having pocketed the money, the St John's-St. A's local boy comes home to Chestnut Hill with a nice spiel about how "LSU wasn't a fit" for the type of academically-oriented player Kelly likes to recruit. And the lay President is lauded for "making a splash" and "trying to return BC football to relevancy", etc., etc.
