Ok - I’m guessing a few rotational pieces seek the portal. I don’t know how we’re gonna score this. Pick three players I guess

Prince Aligbe
Donald Hand
Jayden Hastings

Go

Prince
Kelly
Zackary (dunno if we count him or not)

There’s a bunch more I’d like to launch to the moon

Prince. let him go to a10 where he's more athletic than the competition. there isn't much value in a 6'6 wing who can't shoot

The a10 has been a very good conference for awhile now. Hate to shit on his game but he seems more like an Akron Zip. Let him go to somewhere like that where he can average 9 points mostly off transition looks and rebound putbacks. I honestly would wish him the best of luck. That first game was electric. If he stays thats fine too. I’m just predicting he won’t

Zackary entered the portal today. Appreciate his contributions here, but probably time to move on for everyone involved.

If neither of the freshman can overthrow Chas Kelley, we might miss JZ. I won’t count out Fred Payne since he looked like a gem before his injury. I think if not for his injury he probably would have worked his way into playing 10-15 minutes per in ACC play

Missing him and him moving on are two separate issues. Earl not having a plan is not an excuse to convince him to stay. Hopefully Earl has something in mind and maybe even suggested that Zachery might want to think about other options.

Prince was one of the worst shooters I've ever seen at BC. Like Eddie Odio levels of bad.

Claudelle was super streaky. He'll be missed.

I think what’s more than likely happening is that next year is going to be a down year (+ everyone knows it) and zachery is looking for one last shot at experiencing a tournament run closer to home. I’m assuming the same for Harris. Aligbe is leaving because he is a MAC talent

It was going to be a down year regardless of whether Zachery stayed. It has a better chance of being an up year without him at PG messing things up, slowly.

Armani Mighty now too

Hopefully he caught word of some big name center coming in that would effectively relegate him to his previous 4 minutes per game. Otherwise, this kind of sucks shit too. At least he was a plus defensively

Word is that Hastings was outplaying Mighty in practice and had jumped him for next year. Mighty belongs in very-low level D1 (at best)

What's the word on whether Hastings can win if he's the only player left on the team?

Dick probably watched more of venning than the current staff.

Venning will be a disaster. He has P5 talent, but he is lazy and stupid. He somehow managed to gain 30 pounds during the course of the basketball season—allegedly a huge fan of late night pizza and weed—and absolutely fell apart. Watched him completely shit the bed down the stretch and he was completely gassed 8-10 minutes into games. And if his being a lazy, stupid, locker room cancer wasn’t bad enough, his Mom is an absolute nightmare to deal with. The word in Olean was that his Mom wanted him to turn pro and go to Europe, so I don’t know what sort of NIL deal we gave him. Also, would like to congratulate admissions for whatever insane David Blaine-style contortion they had to slip into to get Venning into the school. Finally, even when he was in shape and healthy, he was a traffic cone on defense and an early foul magnet who spent long stretches sitting with an early 2-3 fouls. Schmidt told the 6th Man Club he was happy to see Venning go and that it was “addition by subtraction.”

Anyway, if Venning is what is coming through the portal, this will be the least likable BC team in history. I will enjoy hating Venning and pointing out that Earl is either incompetent or desperate in bringing this four flusher of a big man to BC. Actually just fired off an email to record for posterity the idiocy of this move.

I see your Chad Venning and raise you a Josh Beadle our other transfer.

A 6'3' wing from Clemson who shoots 14% from 3.

Mason Madsen has committed to join his brother on the Utes. :ace

I really don't like either of these transfers.

Beadle has one of the worst looking shots I've ever seen on tape. The rest of his game and character seems to play and at minimum he can play minutes on a Sweet 16 ACC team.

Venning needs to lose a ton of weight to be successful. He's going to get destroyed at the ACC level. How bad was the A10 if he was 2nd Team All-A10?

Wait... I thought Venning was going to play in China and Adam-Woods was the clubhouse cancer?

Losing three guards who can shoot and then replacing him with Beadle who absolutely cannot is funny. I’m laughing. Maybe he’s gritty

Adams-Woods was a locker room cancer but so was Venning. While Adams-Woods was divisive and started a rift with Daryl Banks—who is a great kid—that split the locker room, Venning was lazy and disinterested for most of the season. He did, in fact, gain 30 pounds over the course of the season and having watched him from essentially the Bonnies bench against Oklahoma State at the beginning of the year and at GMU and GW at the end of the year, I can confirm he was fat and out-of-shape at the end of the year. The guy who played Oklahoma State would be a serviceable offensive option in the ACC (but a defensive liability). The guy who played at GW in March would have a hard time playing in the MAAC. I hope Earl can get him to drop 30-40 pounds like Schmidt did when they got him from Morgan State. It probably doesn’t matter if he falls apart after one year (like he did at Bonnies) as he’ll be gone the minute the 24-25 season ends.
