2021-22 basketball season

I know this cesspool has morphed into a place to post all of your flaming hot Tippecanoe takes, but has anyone heard any details about the MBB scrimmages against Marquette and Harvard? I heard only that BC got smoked by Marquette a few weeks back, but just saw this recent post when I was sniffing around BCInterruption to get away from threads about elections in states I don’t live in and don’t give a fuck about:
Someone posted on Scout site that BC beat Harvard. Very little information but apparently Demar was leading scorer / best player on the court. Also, the information that I saw on the Marquette secret scrimmage was that Marquette did shoot lights out from 3 (said it was 12 of 20) but had BC losing by only 6. There is a poster on Scout who says that Post and Kanye Jones have exceeded expectations in the preseason practices. He believes the starting lineup will most likely be MAL, Demar, Post, Galloway and Bickerstaff. Off the bench he expects Scott, Karnik, Gianni Thompson and Zackery to see minutes. Poster has been a good source of information on BC hoops in the past so I am passing along.

Oh and the season starts next Tuesday. Hansen can get some chub merging the suicide/drinking/wiener thread with the Darthmouth game thread.

The defense and rebounding will improve but I think they’ll really struggle to score the ball

Good strategy to employ Daz-like phrases to make the Crib a safe space for those who miss talking about the “throw game”.

Pretty impressive to “exceed expectations” and yet still not be slated to see minutes on this team. How incredibly low must the expectations have been for Kanye Jones to crush them yet still be behind 9 players on the worst Power 5 roster?

I'll admit I haven't been paying attention, but Fred Scott is still on the team?

Yes he dropped like 25 pounds or something and is on the team.

It is remarkable. Rich Kelly, despite dropping down to the A10 level, is still completely incapable of covering anyone. The upside for him is that as long as his mediocre offensive talents render him UMASS 2nd best offensive threat, they don’t seem disturbed by the defensive nullity he constitutes.

Anyway, as fucking awful and soul killing as our team might be at this point, at least they display a modicum of athleticism and defensive ability. Fuck Rich Kelly and fuck all of Jimmy Christian’s sackless, defense-averse, losers.

WTF was that inbounds play? The Langfords are looking better and better though.

Chris Christie being a Cowboy fan and a Notre Dame fan is appropriate.

zackery has improved the last couple of games

good to see demarr getting more aggressive there aren't many his size & strength

i also see why we're only getting limited minutes so far from gianni

ATLeagle {l Wrote}:WTF was that inbounds play?

My biggest problem with that last play was having the guy with the lowest BBIQ inbounding the ball when (i) he barely passes the ball during any game and (ii) it takes away from his only attribute: chucking a 3-pointer. We had a timeout that he was supposed to use if he didn't have an open man. Instead, he opted to wait 5-seconds and throw a chest-pass to a white jersey.

Giving Logi an echo chamber to talk sports means the board is still dead.

Well my Huskies suck real bad this year. I think Coen is still butt hurt they didn't offer him the BC job. And with Earl Grant being young, the window back to the Eagles may be closed forever. So, he is discouraged.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. This is the year of the Wildcat. Depending on how they break up the brackets in mid-March, the Final Four could ALL be teams from the West

  • Gonzaga
  • Arizona
  • UCLA
  • Kansas

Could happen. Is it likely? No. But its possible. I'll bet at least two of those teams are in the Final Four.

your post brings about two very important points of emphasis that i felt it important to mention

1. kansas is not "in the west" lawrence kansas is a 3 - 4 hour drive east of the center of the contiguous us.

b. in spite of a month's vacation from this place due to justin refusing to feed the hamster on the wheel, you are still a moron

Okay, so 3 teams from the West and one.... near dead center?

I don't care. As long as it's an entertaining March Madness AND Duke needs to lose. Last year's tournament was a lot of fun. Baylor was a very exciting team to watch.

Grant has worked wonders with a team that is much less talented than every other in the ACC. We'll see where he goes from here. But, there are certainly signs that he isn't a complete trainwreck (which would be a marked improvement over the previous attempts to prove that "literally anyone can regularly win at the same level as Coach Second Round").

They have overachieved. No doubt. But still have long stretches where they are a mess offensively. Hopefully that gets fixed over time.

It's not the X's and O's but the Jimmies and Joes. Help arrives next year.
