HJS {l Wrote}:Is the “guy that goes to the NBA conference finals every year” coaching the Celtics next year? I was assured multiple times in this thread that that was something that was guaranteed. The fact that he is offered by Indiana or a replacement for Danny Ainge is immaterial.

Brad Stevens is no longer the head coach of the Celtics. All that matters is that the posters who are always wrong can continue to wallow in their wrongness.

It happened just as you predicted! Wow!

He’s going to be a great coach and probably already beyond BC.

Saint Bonnies at #22 and likely moving up five to seven spots after prison raping Marquette in the finals of the Charleston Shriner’s Classic. Thank God we dodged the Mark Schmidt bullet! Who wants a well-constructed team that can score and play suffocating defense? Much better this way. We are what we are!

Yes, for basketball the SEC is much better than ACC.

Dick Rosenthal {l Wrote}:Also interesting to see the Baby Rapists came for Porter Moser. I am fairly certain he will fail miserably at Oklahoma, but that is precisely the sort of job where you take the money. He’ll likely quadruple his current salary ($1.4 million) and will get a five year deal. When he flames out in five years, assuming he still wants to coach, he’ll land at someplace like DePaul where he’ll get paid in the neighborhood of $2 million a year. A completely different scenario from Beard and a win-win for Moser.

I am interested to see who Steve Watson hires for the Loyola job. He is one of the best basketball ADs out there and whoever he hires is someone BC ought to have a file on for future reference when the Electric Avenue era of BC basketball ends with yet another whimper.

What happens if Steve Watson hires Dennis Gates? Would you then be suggesting we should’ve taken a Cleveland Steamer?

No. In the unlikely event Watson hires the Cleveland Steamer I suggest we open a file on him and watch how Watson works with him so if/when he is successful we can try and hire the now proven candidate and provide him with the resources he is getting at ULC so we can replicate that success. With that said, with the fundraising prowess Watson has demonstrated and the fact that ULC has a new practice facility and can pay $2 million a year, I think Watson might go the route of hiring a mid-major success who underperformed at a P6 level. Arch Miller would make a lot of sense under the circumstances.

Mizzou beats out SoCar in the battle for hiring the Cleveland Steamer.

It was a thing on Bonnie Twitter and their version of EA/EO for about one hour and mild panic set in. Then, some guy from the Boneyard, of all places, posted on their EA/EO site that Blads is an imbecile, which was followed by the Bonnies beat writer from the Buffalo newspaper pointing out that Blads was a the BC football beat writer for the Globe 10 years ago and likely had no real sources and then reported five minutes later that Schmidt’s agent and the school both said it wasn’t true. Then the Olean newspaper Bonnies beat writer and whoever covers UMASS both chimed in that Schmidt had turned down the job a month ago as had the UCONN assistant coach and that UMASS had been targeting Frank Martin since his firing at South Carolina. Then everyone laughed at Blads.

As Fraschilla said, Xavier probably had the deepest and most talented team in the Big East, they just had a shitty coach until they fired him after the 1st round of the NIT. They also made a bunch of 25 foot 3 pointers, if they do that on Thursday even Texas A&M isn't going to have an answer--and having watched them close up, A&M would have been a slam dunk for the Sweet 16 if they hadn't gotten hosed by the NCAA.

My two favorite things that happened last night were (1) watching the Xavier AD stammer and stutter while Adrian Wojinarski asked him why he had hired Sean Miller about three feet away from me. "Sean Miller...help me understand that one. He escaped being indicted for wire fraud only because Book Richardson didn't roll on him. Speaking of Book, he's out of Otisville now and coaching the Gauchos. You guys going to add him to the staff? I have no idea why you just didn't hire Jonas (Hayes). He's the guy who brought in all of your talent and he is a smart guy.... Miller ought to have had a show cause hung around his neck. (2) A&M booster of some means sitting two rows in front of me at court side at the end of the Bonnies-Xavier game loudly yelling into his mobile phone "Yeah, we told Jimbo we've given you everything you asked for and a hell of lot more, now you better get the job done. No more fucking whining. No more 4-4 bullshit. And no more getting swept by the Mississippi schools." Shortly thereafter, hangs up and apologizes to the Bonnies fan sitting next to him for the coarse language and saying to the effect "This is nice. Love comin' to New York, but this is just for passing the time before the Maroon and White game next Saturday."

Got to say, did not see Xavier beating A&M. Makes the Bonnies' performance look a lot better in hindsight. Perhaps Buzz Williams thought he was ineffectually coaching Marquette and decided that he couldn't win and quit. He has been known to do that.

fucking aggies are the only folks on the floor with a worse night than the refs. at least the game was exciting, but ended in way that i have grown used to when watching teams in maroon uniforms.

i'm mostly saddened that i was one rimmed out bad buzzer shot from being able to declare myself a hgaw

You could pull and HJS and state that you always thought A&M might choke in the final and thus, your prediction was actually correct.
