The ACC should cancel the Championship Game. No one is interested in watching two incredibly bad teams play each other for an undeserved slot in a NYD Bowl. Instead, the ACC should embrace its staggering awfulness and have BC play Georgia Tech to determine the absolute worst team in P5 and quite possibly all of FBS football. Even if BC were not playing, I'd tune it to that.

BC would back out at the last minute due to COVID.

Dick Rosenthal {l Wrote}:The FSU-LSU game was the worst-coached game—on both sides—that I have ever watched. FSU is probably a 7-4 team in a terrible ACC. As far as LSU goes, they’ll beat Southern this coming Saturday, they will be favored over New Mexico and UAB, but those may be the only games they win. They look like the underdog in every game on the rest of the schedule and who knows, if they limp into the UAB game at 2-8, they could lose to the Blazers on their way to 2-10.

As for Clemson, I think they have fallen from the ranks of Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State. They look more on the Notre Dame level—they might make a playoff because their schedule is so weak (Their game at ND in November is the only game they will not be favored), but the current iteration, at best, can hope to hang tough with the aforementioned three for two or three quarters, and is more likely to get buried early. It will be interesting to see if Dabo sticks around when Saban retires in a couple of years.

You may be aware that, last night, there was a shooting on UVA’s campus killing 3 and injuring 2. The suspect is a former football player Chris Darnell Jones Jr.

The rumors circulating online is that all the victims are also UVA football players (I believe all in their junior year). He apparently waited for them in the parking garage as a bus returned to campus from DC (the players were attending a play for a class). One name rumored as killed is D’sean Perry (based on Perry’s dad’s Twitter account). Another rumored victim is Lavel Davis.

Update @ 11: All above now confirmed… along with the 3rd victim being identified as Devin Chandler.
Update @ 1130: Jones is in custody. The two others injured in the shooting are also football players (names yet to be released).

As of 12:30 PM on Monday 11/14 there's still nothing up on the UVA football team website about the incident or even the deceased players.

Authorities do not fully understand Jones’ possible motive, (UVa President Jim) Ryan said.

His father, Chris Jones Sr., told CNN affiliate WTVR that his son was “real paranoid … about something. He wouldn’t tell me everything.”

Some people were picking on him and Jones Jr. said he didn’t know how to handle it, the father told WTKR of a conversation they had a month ago when his son visited. He said he advised his son to just go to class and ignore them.

The father apologized for his son’s alleged actions and said he couldn’t believe it was him when he was told the news by police.
