Nice win for FSU last night. They look remarkedly better. That said, those were 2 very stupid football teams.
Only 1Q in but Clemson does not look like a national champ caliber team. They just dont have the talent at QB&WR.

The FSU-LSU game was the worst-coached game—on both sides—that I have ever watched. FSU is probably a 7-4 team in a terrible ACC. As far as LSU goes, they’ll beat Southern this coming Saturday, they will be favored over New Mexico and UAB, but those may be the only games they win. They look like the underdog in every game on the rest of the schedule and who knows, if they limp into the UAB game at 2-8, they could lose to the Blazers on their way to 2-10.

As for Clemson, I think they have fallen from the ranks of Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State. They look more on the Notre Dame level—they might make a playoff because their schedule is so weak (Their game at ND in November is the only game they will not be favored), but the current iteration, at best, can hope to hang tough with the aforementioned three for two or three quarters, and is more likely to get buried early. It will be interesting to see if Dabo sticks around when Saban retires in a couple of years.

The Clemson team I watched today will almost certainly lose on the road to bad to mediocre Florida State and Notre Dame teams, whose mediocrity aside, have twice the athletes that Wake Forest can muster. And even if Clemson squeaks through our execrable conference undefeated, they aren’t making the Final Four. There will be two SEC teams—UGA and Bama, the winner of tOSU and Michigan, and one of either Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor or UW/USC. The ACC is demonstrably worse than both the PAC 12 and Big 12 and I suspect will find itself in the same boat the PAC 12 has for the last several years.

Rooting for Tennessee over Alabama. Alabama has made so many mistakes in this game and behind 28-20 after 2 late 1st half scores. Still think Alabama will find a way to win this game.

It's a different era now. The alums already hate Swarbrick and have for some time. He has had top cover from Jenkins and the BOT which has allowed Savvy Jack to survive for so long, but they'll hang him out to dry if football implodes, especially if the perception is that he saddled Freeman with Rees--which he apparently did.

BOT was in town for the game. There was also a meeting amongst some of the mega donors regarding adding a $100 million dollar NIL pool to the already substantial NIL fund that Mendoza and Eilers funded and Brady Quinn chairs. BOT could not have been happy with that shit show and I don't think the donors like Purcell are going to drop tens of millions in NIL without some big changes.

My semi-educated guess is that Rees will be sent packing at the end of the season, if not sooner. He has been an utter failure as an OC and as a QB coach and the fact that ND's QB and WR cupboards were completely bare prior before Freeman arrived is on him (and Kelly). There is obviously no talent at QB and the only WR talent is among the freshman and sophomore class. Further, the fact that he apparently dissuaded Freeman from dipping into the portal for a QB is the fatal third strike.

Savvy Jack might also suck the pipe as well. He probably should have been gracefully retired when Kelly left, but he is such a political animal, who knows. As for Freeman, he'll be back next year no matter what. But if 2023 implodes and the 2024 recruiting class--which is truly an Alabama-Ohio State level talent class starts heading for the exits then I think he is gone along with Savvy Jack. if Savvy Jack gets shot this year, the. Freeman's chair will be scalding hot next year and he might get the Lane Tiffin treatment if it goes badly.
