HJS {l Wrote}:Freeze officially to Auburn.

Weirdest hire of this cycle just announced… Deion Sanders is the next coach of Colorado.

They got to do something. Hire a former NFL superstar and use his clout and notoriety to try and "sell" a school that top, blue chip high school recruits aren't the least bit interested in playing.

Colorado is still suffering the same fate that Nebraska is suffering, a failure to recruit in Texas/Oklahoma because of abandonment of the Big-XII. Colorado left for the financial security of the Pac-12 (soon to be returned to Pac-10 status) and haven't won shit since. Same as for Nebraska bolting for the B1G-T(16)N. Same reason, same exact on-field results. Twas a money move that cost them any chance of being a legitimate power by denying them the Texas recruiting. SO NOW we have powerhouses like TCU and Baylor of all schools, teams that were once nothing that are now, something. I also expect that BYU and Houston will only get substantially stronger with vastly better recruits joining the Big-XII.

It remains to be seen if the University of Texas will simply get the top blue chip recruits from Texas high schools regardless of the conference that they play. That was a gamble that Texas-A&M made joining the SEC and they shit they bed this year (a year that was a "weak" SEC West), that is for damn sure. I think TCU, Baylor, and Texas Tech will continue to remain strong and Houston will get stronger.

Liberty pays their head coach north of $4mm per year. As bad as things are, I have no interest in doing yet another coaching search while Fr Leahy is President.

Satterfield going to Cincy is a strange move. How often does the "I better leave before they fire me" move turn into something good?

Interesting article on Paul Chryst and his firing. Really surprised I am not hearing his name more for current job openings- maybe this gives some clues, but, overall, still seems like the guy did a good job. A couple bad years in MOST places and, you're gone.

behind a paywall so i assume the article continues that after the passenger sent chryst a text chryst agreed to the interview, but then the interview went sideways once the kid got on the phone.

i'd assume chryst answered the first 5 - 7 questions with "fuck if i know" and then called the kid the n-word in spite of his clear white boy wisconsin cheese blood evident in his nasal accent. then, when corrected, chryst told the kid that he had bad breath, even though the conversation was still on the phone.

then, chryst referenced back to the guy that texted him originally and said from what he knew of that guy he wouldn't make a good hooker and said he needed a strong ass fucking.

i then assume that when the student and parent started to express concern over his responses, chryst apologized and said he was distraught at having recently been diagnosed with hiv - but when the car load started to express sympathy chryst laughed, told them he was kidding and called them all homo lovers. the kid in the car then ended the call.

as a follow up, i assume a few days later a package arrived at their house - a gift from chryst. when they opened the card chryst expressed his deepest heartfelt apologies for the tone of the call and said as evidence that most of it was just a joke, he sent them some fake dog shit that they could use as a prank, similar to the one he played on them. they reached in and it felt soft and squishy - unlike any of the prank poop they'd seen before. they were pleased with the gift and were back to thinking chryst was a nice guy... until the next day, they got another letter which had a picture of chryst actively shitting into the box. that letter was autographed "enjoy my feces fuckfaces!!!!"

i'm sure the article goes into more depth - it is the atlantic after all - but i'm assuming those are the high points from the article

Both of their finalists were a bit odd but they did go with a young coach named Jim Harbaugh from FCS and that worked out.

Jason Garrett had no college experience. Seemed like a major leap to go with him. :ace

He's 65 and hasn't coached in four years. Do you think he wants to come back?

It will be interesting to see who the Weasel is able to lure to Navy that will be better than Niumatalolo.

It is amazing the run Gladchuck has had in Annapolis. When he was hired, Monan viewed him as a potential Bill Flynn in terms of staying power. Leahy put a quick end to that (admittedly with cause due to his handling of the gambling scandal). But, it could be argued that we have never recovered from that decision. He hired York, Skinner and TOB. We’ve been left dealing with GDF, Bates, Marty, Doctor and Blake. It will be interesting to see how the next President handles athletics because nothing could be worse than Chris Crane.

Will be interesting to see what SEC money can buy its worse program.

Mike Leach is in critical condition due to a sudden medical emergency. The Twitterverse claims it will take a miracle for him to pull through. He will forever be remembered by me as the coach who would’ve been awesome at BC (both for his offense, quirky personality, and willingness to suffocate Craig James’ kid in a shed).

Chet burned plenty of bridges prior to the gambling scandal. He pissed off donors multiple times. The Henning hire was not well received. He got into a pissing match with Jim O'Brien. And he sort of lucked into York when Millbury bailed.

Yeah... No.

He hired Henning, which nearly killed the football program. Fr. Leahy, for all his faults, made the call on Tom O'Brien.

He hired Cedorchuk, who lead the hockey program to new lows, handing out scholarships he didn't have and recruiting kids who not only couldn't play, but were troublemakers. He then had the Milbury fiasco (that wouldn't have ended well), and finally had York walk through the door to save his ass.

He got us in the papers again for not handling the Jim O'Brien situation correctly.

Gladchuck has found his level in the Patriot Conference. That doesn't mean we can't do better than the other AD hires Fr. Leahy has screwed up.

This is simply because douchy Dems loved to prance around with a White Claw in their hands at some 74 gathering and proclaim that they are, in fact, moderate with the evidence being that they voted for a Republican Governor. Baker was nothing more than a moderate Democrat who pondered to this insufferable demographic.
