Former Syracuse QB A.J. Long has transferred to Wagner. He didn't play in this past year's game, but was the QB we actually beat in '14. He'll be eligible immediately. Amazing that Daz is 1-2 against Syracuse...

UPDATED THE INITIAL POST: Home-and-Home with Purdue Announced:
- 2018: @ Purdue
- 2020: Purdue

Despite the delays, this does take away a lot of the pressure on the P5 front. The next opening won't be until 2021.

2016 P5: none
2017 P5: Notre Dame
2018 P5: @ Purdue
2019 P5: @ Notre Dame
2020 P5: Purdue
2021 P5: tbd
2022 P5: @ Notre Dame
2023 P5: @Ohio State
2024 P5: Ohio State
2025 P5: Notre Dame

Now it's about filling out the G5 slots with some interesting opponents and maximizing home games. Hoping to see some locals like Army, Navy, and Temple in there. Who knows, maybe surprise us with a BYU or some other G5, but attractive opponent.

The change in landscape between now and even 2020 could be enormous, so while I agree it should not be assumed they'll be played all sorts of weird things (minor league/pretend academic split; further conference alignment; ban of the sport due to CTE; BC drops out of P5; BC actually becomes respectable) could happen by then to make it more or less likely.

The answer shall be revealed soon:
- BC's next two P5 openings: 2021 and 2026
- Penn State's next two P5 openings: 2021 and 2026.

Fun fact: Penn State is the only OOC opponent other than Notre Dame that has yield a sellout at Alumni in the last 20 years.

yukon will change that in 2016. the entire world cares about a bc/yukon rivalry so you won't be able to get with 10 miles of the stadium because of the excessive crowds

If BC is booking Wangers of the world why not Jesuit wangers like HC or Fordham? Maybe a late season game against Fordham at Jankee stadium since pinstripe is out of reach, they'd sell more tickets for these games than Wanger. Whats next, Monmouth U?

Pretty sad when someone like you is giving up their tickets.

No wins in ACC play for football and basketball is the definition of rock bottom isn't it?

If the above scenario happens I don't understand how Bates survives

basketball lost to UMass Lowell at home is that not rock bottom? I know it's only Christian's second year but is an ACC o-fer a sign of improvement?

Look at the schedule on Page 1, we've already scheduled HC. And Fordham will be scheduled just as soon as they reach the scholarship requirement to be counted towards bowl eligibility. I think next year is the first year they'll cross the threshold. Patience...

Fordham has been fully funded for a long time now hence them playing and beating FBS schools regularly. I am surprised we have not added them. :ace

gtown really has no stadium, at least Fordham could try and schedule a game at Jankee for auld lang syne

If BU restored football BC could help start a bus ride league, no long flights down south to get curb stomped

http://ajerseyguy.com/?p=13186

That would make 2016:
9/3 - GT (Dublin)
9/10 - @UMass
9/17 - BYE
9/24 - Wagner
10/1 - Buffalo
10/8 - (ACC)
10/15 - (ACC)
10/22 - (ACC)
10/29 - (ACC)
11/5 - (ACC)
11/12 - (ACC)
11/19 - UConn
11/26 - Syracuse

I'll give Bates and Daz credit for this much at least: that's how you ease a team into a schedule coming off a 3-win season. Then again, the cupcake early schedule didn't exactly help the team develop in '15, so who knows.

:screamyeagle :popcorn :screamyeagle :popcorn :screamyeagle

2 Good things about this schedule:
(1) Less than 3 home games in Sept.;
2. At least 2 home games on Oct.
Everything else stinks.

If you replaced Buffalo with a P5 of any sort I would give this an A+. I like UMass at Gillette and would be fine with it being an annual thing. It's fun, easy to get to, easy parking, and is basically a BC home game anyway.

Giving up a GT home game is annoying, but you don't turn down a national time slot where you're the only game on TV.

G-town could play at a number of spots, Landover MD, the old RFK at Stadium Armory or Nationals stadium at Navy Yard should the demand be big enough.

I hope you are enjoying relieving the "glory" days of Dan Orlovsky.

Not RFK. That stadium will collapse any day now and kill us all!
