You're going to have to do a lot more than get into a internet argument to get banned from this site.

They can't effectively use guys that don't fit into their mold, at least two players have as little faith in Spaz as I do.

Haden will transfer to UF and become a very good scat back for them. A good career move on his part.

Just because these guys didn't pan out, doesn't mean they were mis-used. Maybe they just didn't have the abilities to succeed on this level. That is almost certainly true with Tuggle, and Haden, while having certain natural talent, was never going to be a star at RB....the most he would ever be was a good change of pace guy or utility guy (part receiver, returner, 3rd down back, etc). The guy seemed to get hurt almost every game.

I agree. I was never high on Haden and some got pissed when I questioned whether he was very good. Shows how bad the star system is.

I think Haden could have been a dynamic player in our offense. As in, rush for 400/500 a season and catch for 400/500 a season with 6-10 TD's. He's not going to run for 1200 in a season like Montel can, but he could have been used as a matchup nightmare. You put him in the slot and they have to use a player in the secondary to cover him. No linebacker in the country could.

EagleNYC {l Wrote}:RegalBCeagle {l Wrote}:EagleNYC {l Wrote}:Ok, now that I've read it, let me say that Haden was not used properly, on balance. At the same time, he has proved to be prone to injury despite limited carries- in short, he is not an every down back. While I don't blame him for trying for a starting spot, Montel Harris earned the job as BC's feature back. Haden never sustained any period of excellence despite starting most (all?) of last season behind a gifted offensive line. While his bust and speed have been much touted (and displayed on several runs), I can't recall him breaking a single run of 40 yards against a FBS team.
I agree completely.
Tuggle transferring was a foregone conclusion and not a blow to the team. It has become clear that Harris is the better back, and Haden was a bit of a disappointment based on the expectations a lot of us had for him. He's quick, but not necessarily explosive. I am more concerned how these departures could be perceived by recruits and commits. I'm hoping it's not negative.
Wow, re-reading my quoted passage I caught my Freudian slip. I'll leave that question to ATL.
BTW, when TW gets back from his deposition he's going to lose his shit.

Topoo doesn't run that program. But the best post on this thread regarding his skills. Maybe we shortchanged him?
A lotta shit swirling up there......
1981Eagle {l Wrote}:In the best of worlds --yes. The reality is the kid is too small and fragile to play FBS football. So, he gets hurt easily. Also, he is just not that fast. There are twenty players on the roster of each of Clemson, Miami, Florida etc that are faster and more elusive. He was way over-rated from the start. That's what really killed him. We all expected a 4 star and we got a two star. If he came in as a two star then I would probably be happy with his performance but I feel like we got shafted because I was expecting a Montel. Thank God we did get Montel. Duke would be real tough if they had Montel this year.
