BOB had his interview with Adam Brenneman released and casually mentioned that Bryce Steele is coming back from some kind of cancer diagnosis ... I hadn't heard that before, has it been disclosed elsewhere ?

This has been known on campus for some time. I guess he didn't want any kind of public statement.

Good crowd. Most of the skill position transfers ran with the 1s. 19 on D was all over the field. A.d the RB from CM looks very good.

Datrel Jones? He was the 5th RB but now may play with Broom's injury. Robichaux didn't play today but he is fine. It was hard to tell who was out as a lot of them weren't wearing the jersey but Bond, Taylor, Steele and Batson didn't dress. Krajnovic is no longer on the team.

Jones was the 3rd back today and by far the best. He was running with the ones as a backup to the FSU kid by halftime.

Taylor playing Guard helps the one Guard spot, but opens the Tackle position to be a possible sieve. The prospect of Conley etc...starting at Guard is brutal drop off vs what we had at Guard last year.

SMU let Nevada(!) control the clock against them yday, and almost lost. That's not a great look for them. Lot of talent on both sides of the ball, but the book maybe is starting to develop?

Everyone is chirping about them being a sleeper team, but no one is acknowledging that lowly BC ran all over them in the bowl game.

The future is extremely bright for them, but are they really ready for a full slate of P5 teams?

Their future and growth opportunity is linked to the Ohio State model of this season... where they have spent over $20mm in NIL to field their current roster. That is just the above the table, reported amounts. Probably much more is spent on agents and handlers. But.. this is the world of college sports right now and in the future. It is a minor league whose hallmarks are: annual free agency, no salary cap, no draft, avoidance of major media markets

All shit seasons of first year BC head coaches are forgiven. This is #1 year for Bill and this is a tall order. This is a rough schedule. So, lets see what he can recruit.

It took Toby 3 years before BC was any good. Then they were ALWAYS good after that.

Anyone know why Grayson James wasn't listed on the depth chart at QB? I thought he got a lot of reps in camp and had done well? A freshman, Johnathan Montague, Jr., was listed third, after Jacobe Robinson. I thought Peter Delaportas was highly rated when he signed, but he isn't listed, either.

A lot less "OR"s this year, and most of the guys listed as 1's started, except for Logan Taylor (injured?), Jeremiah Franklin (who did play), and Liam Connor.

Not a lot of true freshman listed, and most are 3rd or 4th string. I think Turbo Richard was the only one who played.

Bill's last name is O'Brien.

That is the way did things as well. Maybe with some very rare exceptions, true freshmen do not play at BC. They redshirt. Bill may be following the same playbook written 20 years ago.

I don't see a Duquesne game thread. But it's my first time in a long time being a season-ticket holder and I've opted just for the included Newton campus parking. Is that actually on Newton campus or is it the other property they purchased fromthe Jewish congregation? BC Football makes no mention of Newton Csmpus patkingin its maps
