Agreed. And, the Penn Brewery as well as the South Side bars are good places to drink away a weekend. Hence, I would like to go see the Sox play there when teams meet in late June.

On my quasi ballpark / quasi brewery tour in the fall, I enjoyed PNC the most. Unfortunately I was only in pittsburgh for a few hours before I had to fly to my next stop. Maybe I will go check it out again in June with the sox in town.
From what I saw on my brief trip:
PNC - Small, Intimate setting with the unmistakable yellow bridge in the background. You can enter the stadium through a pizza parlor and then head to CF and walk along the river behind the bleachers. Perfectly blended all of the aspects of the city.
Petco - Ballpark feels cavernous and empty with about 10k seats too many for a smaller city without hardcore fans (and the beach a few miles away). Many elements that work quite well together (CF beach, Park within the Park, Warehouse) and surprisingly nice skyline. Gaslamp Quarter is pretty overrated though.
PacBell - Obviously priceless backdrop, but it felt very cramped in the concourses.
Coors - Really nice stadium with an incredible facade in a great pre/post game neighborhood. In the Wells Fargo Club Seats you can start a tab at the bar (+5), but a serious lack of available microbreweries in an area filled with them (-10)
Safeco - They have some million dollar views in that area (Ranier, the Sound, etc)...and you can't see anyone of them because of the damn retractable roof
