sandy is perfect to steward the transition. he's worked there for a long time, acquired much of the talent, isn't going to be there for the long term given his age / health issues.

not sure if cohen is going to swing big in FA or color around the edges personnel wise while dramatically ramping up all of what the wilpons cheap'd out on. though he's obviously in a unique position given his wealth, he didn't lose hundreds of millions like other owners this year, and is going in expecting to lose $400m + in first 2 years

You would think that since this was widely known to have occurred in MLB circles over 4 years ago that the Mets would have done the due diligence in advance of hiring him and determined that under the circumstances hiring him was a bad idea.
